I have reached Day 2 of my Master Cleanse experience. Now, I will tell you how Day 1 went. So, I must say that the hunger cravings were not unbearable. There weren't that bad. However, definitely noticeable. My stomach growled and growled and growled. But sometimes, for example in the mornings, I do go hours without eating. However, in those situations, I know that I will be eating sometime that day. So its really not the same.
The hunger cravings were the least of my problems. It was hard for me to consume 6 glasses yesterday. In fact, I didn't. I consumed 5. The first three were a piece of cake. (mmmm, cake!) Oh, but when I got to the fourth glass, I felt like I was going to throw up when I was drinking it. I felt like it was just too much to consume. So when I got to the fifth glass, I could not drink it all at once. I sipped it over about a 40 minute period. But there was just no room for a sixth glass. With that said, I ended Day 1 with having consumed 5 glasses of the lemonade. (master cleanse)
Here's when we get to the good part. I must say that as the day went on, around evening time, I began to struggle mentally. I know this because I started conducting more research on the Master Cleanse. I found some interesting things, that made me start to Reconsider. Based on my research, many people lose a lot of weight(7-10lbs.) within the first 4-5 days of beginning the cleanse; and 15-20 by the time they reach day 10! Losing that much weight is not something that I want to do. At all. I can spare 5 to 7lbs. max! Well at least I think I can. Hopefully those 5-7lbs. comes from the fat on my stomach! Anyway, the possibility of losing that much weight definitely scared me.
The second thing I found was that a lot of people experience rapid weight gain once they complete there Master Cleanse experience. Now, this part really depends on me and whether I go back to the same eating habits I had before beginning this cleanse. This thing, I probably can handle.
The next thing is that you truly don't get the daily nutrients your body needs while on the cleanse and after a few days your body enters starvation mode (sounds drastic right). So that made me think why am I putting my body through this starvation process?
At this point, I had to step back and think about why I am doing this process. I want to experience the cleanse. The true cleanse of detoxing my body. Also, I want to lose the fat from my stomach, plainly put. And, I want to see for myself if this thing works. I guess there may not be any "diet" that does not come with some "bad" effects. With that said, I have decided to take the pressure of consuming at least 6 glasses a day and going for the "required" 10 day period away. Mind you, I am still striving for 10 days. While striving for 10 days, I may realize that my body cannot handle or does not need 10 days. After all, each of our bodies are distinct.
So, now I am embarking on the Master Cleanse, as to Adrianna Jacenta up to as many days as she can handle not to exceed 10 days Journey.
You may have noticed the name of this blog is Master Cleanse, Don't do it! Reconsider? What I have just spoken of is one avenue of where the Reconsider comes in. Many of you may have thought that Reconsider means, revisit this whole idea of doing the Master Cleanse, and maybe not do it. That may very well be an aspect to you. Others may take the Reconsider as, don't do it! Put the bag of potato chips down, and step away.(maybe the most common?) Finally, others may have thought, and this is the aspect that applies to me, that Reconsider means, reconsider "their" Master Cleanse method and format it to your body...deciding whether I should do 10 days, drink 6 glasses, etc.
After talking with 2 of my classmates, I have been encouraged to continue on in my own way and reinforced of what I should expect to get out of the Master Cleanse Diet. Also, I learned that it is extremely important to strictly adhere to the ingredients. Do not derogate, okay stray, from them!
I will keep striving for 10 days. I will not stop before 10 days unless my body tells me to.
As far as my second day, today, after drinking each glass, I definitely felt a little nauseous. But it is only the second day and my body hasn't adapted to this new liquid diet thing. Things will get better with each day.
I am signing off. Will report back to you guys tomorrow. Remember to keep your individual body in mind, and stick to the ingredients!!!!
Off to get an oil change.
Thanks for reading. Love to all and good day!! :)
